You need to monitor your business more effectively in order to drive down costs and increase efficiency. You need to know the state of every aircraft in each fleet after every flight. You need to be able to efficiently and reliably send operational information to all your aircrafts. enterprise:etl fulfills all these requirements.
Why the Power of Data?
Are you able to view your Operational demands along side your Maintenance requirements?
Can you manage all the impact of competing business pressures at any point during the day?
Do you have access to the right information when you need it?
Are you sure your data is accurate?
enterprise:etl uses the latest portable technology both in the cockpit in-flight, and after the flight, to collect data such as airborne/landing times, and details of defects. enterprise:etl is fully integrated with rusada's enterprise:airline ground-based Engineering and Operations system, so at the start of the flight, the portable computer can be uploaded with all the relevant Engineering and Operations data needed for the trip, such as aircraft details, crew information, MEL list etc.
Throughout the flight, tech log data can be accumulated, and either transmitted in real-time from the aircraft using satellite data communications, or using ground-based data transfers at the end of the flight if preferred.
Why enterprise:etl ?
Data is one of the key assets of an airline. rusada offers airlines a system with unparalleled functionality built to cover Operations, Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul. This ensures that all areas of the business have access to, and can act upon, the same information.
enterprise:etl solves the next problem faced by any complex system, data acquisition.
The solution concentrates on the data contained in the technical log since this provides the majority of the information required by enterprise:airline.
However enterprise:etl is not merely an electronic technical log; it extends rusada's enterprise:airline solution for use in the cockpit and at line stations. The unique capability of the enterprise:airline solution guarantees data integrity from data capture to analysis and reporting.
This approach allows data to be recorded once, validated once and immediately integrated into the enterprise:airline solution.
enterprise:etl has been developed as part of the Microsoft.NET based enterprise:airline solution.
enterprise:etl is comprised of a tailored software client to support the approved technical log procedure of the airline.
Two Windows XP Tablet PCs are typically recommended in order to meet the failover requirements of the local aviation authority. The actual Tablet PC can be changed to suit customer preference as long as it meets the minimum specification requirements (see over page for more details). Each aircraft is assigned an enterprise:etl and replaces the traditional paper technical log.
Why Tablet PC?
The minimum requirements for deploying the enterprise:etl are as follows:
Microsoft® Windows® XP Professional
Processor 1.20 GHz
512MB memory
Two PC Card Type II expansion slots
One USB port
40GB hard disk
russelladams recommends that the device be:
Rugged (for example tested to an accepted industry standard such as MIL-STD-810F)
Equipped with a passive touch sensitive screen
The recommended Tablet PC for deploying the enterprise:etl is the Panasonic Toughbook-29.
Why Microsoft.NET Technology?
enterprise:etl is an optional module of rusada's enterprise:airline product, which is built around Microsoft.NET framework, which is the foundation of all future Microsoft based application development. For rusada's customers this enables dramatic improvements in functionality as well as access to just about any document or file direct from the user's desktop. Utilising the .NET framework also ensures future-proofing of the solution for many years.
enterprise:airline utilises Smart Client technology. This supports remote access simply and securely, giving total accessibility to data from anywhere with a client, and offers significantly faster performance than a standard Thin Client (browser-based client). Management of the IT infrastructure and the client application can be controlled centrally generating significant IT savings. MS-SQL ensures comprehensive security and reliability for the storage and management of critical business data. The rusada client can also be deployed on a variety of equipment making it possible to operate from a range of devices such as PDA’s as well as from on-board clients for applications such as e-techlog.
